England's schedule for ICC Cricket World Cup 2027
England will open their campaign against Bangladesh in World Cup 2027.
The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 will be played in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. The tournament will return to Africa after 24 years and will feature 14 teams.
The World Cup is scheduled to begin on October 2, 2027, and the final will be played on November 21, 2027. The ICC and Cricket South Africa announced the schedule in Cape Town on October 1, 2026.
England are among the teams that have secured direct qualification for the 2027 World Cup. They earned their place through the ICC ODI rankings cut-off on September 30, 2026.
India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Australia, England, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh are the eight teams that qualified through the rankings. South Africa and Zimbabwe also secured their places as hosts.
The remaining four spots will be decided through the qualifiers scheduled for early 2027. West Indies are among the teams that will have to take this route to reach the tournament.

England have been placed in Group B alongside New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Qualifier B. They will begin their campaign against Bangladesh on October 8 in Windhoek.
England will then face Sri Lanka on October 13 in Windhoek before taking on South Africa on October 16 in Gqeberha. Their final two group matches will be against Qualifier B on October 20 in Harare and New Zealand on October 23 in Gqeberha.

The group-stage fixtures will decide whether England advance to the next round. The top three teams from each group, along with the best fourth-placed team, will qualify for the Super 7 stage.
In the 2019 World Cup, England won World Cup after beating New Zealand in the final at Lord’s. They had a strong campaign, winning six of their nine league matches before beating Australia in the semi-final.
England struggled in the 2023 World Cup, finishing seventh with three wins from nine matches. They will now look to improve in 2027 and produce a campaign similar to their title-winning run in 2019.
