A video of Virat Kohli promoting a betting app has been doing rounds on social media.

Indian star batter Virat Kohli, who last played his international cricket against Afghanistan in the five-match T20I series and in January played a two-match test series against South Africa and is now on a personal break in the ongoing test series against England, has found himself in a huge controversy regarding a betting app.

in the ongoing five-match series against England, Virat Kohli opted to stay away from the first two test matches, citing personal reasons. However, there were possibilities of Kohli returning for the third test, but as soon as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Indian squad for the last three matches against the Three Lions, Kohli once again opted out due to personal reasons which left the Indian fans in dilemma.

Meanwhile, this is the first time since his debut that veteran batter Virat Kohli is missing the whole test series. Earlier, Kohli missed three-test games in the India’s tour of Australia in 2020-21.

With India having a 2-1 lead, the hosts will look to seal the series in the upcoming fourth test match at JSCA Stadium in Ranchi, which will be a do-or-die encounter for the Three Lions.

Did Virat Kohli promote a betting app?

No, Virat Kohli hasn’t promoted any betting app as claimed by the viral video doing rounds across social media. Virat Kohli, who is on a personal break currently, found himself in the middle of a scam. The digital scammers are using veteran Indian batter’s voice and spreading a clip by creating fake advertisements using deepfake technology through AI.

Recently, a false video advertisement for an betting app app claiming high returns on users’ investments has been going viral all over social media, just because former Indian skipper Virat Kohli was spotted in that video.

However, to make that advertisement more real, the scammers also added a famous TV channel journalist name during a live news show. The fake add also claims that Kohli is earning Rs. 81,00 in just three days through that betting app.

Here is the viral clip:

Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter deepfake video

Earlier, Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter Sara Tendulkar was also a victim of deepfake video where his daughter Sara was seen playing a ‘particular game’. Sachin himself came forward and addressed the video as fake. “These videos are fake. It is disturbing to see rampant misuse of technology. Request everyone to report videos, ads & apps like these in large numbers,” he posted on X.
