An image is going viral on social media ahead of the big IPL 2023 final between CSK and GT.

Fans are eagerly waiting to know who will be crowned IPL Champions. Both Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans will be locking horns against each other in the IPL 2023 final at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. Before that fan clubs are at war with each other on social media about support. There’s a viral image claiming Ahmedabad turning into the city of yellow to support Chennai Super Kings. Though Chennai get huge crowd support wherever they travel because of their captain MS Dhoni, the images are misleading and posted out of context. The viral image is not related to cricket but to football.

Truth behind the viral image

Fans are linking an image from Spanish Football to the Indian Premier League. Fans have linked UD Las Palmas fans celebration to IPL. UD Las Palmas with a stunning performance against Deportivo Alaves in the season's last game earned promotion to the first division in the La Liga. After the win, UD Las Palmas fans took to the streets outside their home ground Estadio Gran Canaria. UD Las Palmas colour is also yellow which is identical to what Chennai Super Kings wear in the Indian Premier League. Fans welcomed UD Las Palmas with sheer enthusiasm.

Indian Premier League Final is scheduled to begin at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. Chennai Super Kings will be taking on Gujarat Titans. Chennai have won the IPL title four times and Gujarat Titans are the defending champions. Both teams started their campaign as the opening game of the IPL 2023 at the same venue. Gujarat Titans finished top and Chennai ended up in second place in the points table.
