The first ODI between Australian Cricket Team and Indian Cricket Team is currently underway on at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Veteran Indian batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma made a comeback in the national team during the encounter, which also witnessed Shubman Gill taking over as the new ODI captain.
Kohli and Rohit prepared for the series since the last two months and fans were excited to watch both batting legends return to the field. However, the duo failed to make a mark on their comeback, getting out cheaply in the first innings.
Rohit opened the batting with Gill but could only score eight runs off 14 balls before becoming a victim of Josh Hazlewood in the fourth over. Bowling a short delivery that bounced a little extra, Rohit got an outside edge and was caught by Matthew Renshaw at second slip.
Soon after, Kohli followed Rohit to the pavilion after becoming a victim of Mitchell Starc in the seventh over. Kohli bagged an eight-ball duck, being caught by Cooper Connolly. The right-handed batsman tried to hit a big drive outside off, however, Connolly dived at backward point to grab an amazing catch.
