India beat England by 336 runs at Edgbaston in Birmingham to level the five-match series 1-1.
The Indian Cricket Team had a terrific outing with the bat and ball in the second test of the five-match series against the England Cricket Team. The Shubman Gill-led side completed a magnificent 336-run win at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
In what was a historic moment for India, they registered their first-ever victory at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Skipper Shubman Gill led from the front as he slammed two centuries in the game – 269 in the first innings and 161 in the second innings.
In the first innings, after being asked to bat first, the visitors posted a gigantic total of 587 runs. Apart from Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal (87) and Ravindra Jadeja (89) also played vital hands that put England under pressure.
After that, England got all out for 407 runs, allowing the Shubman Gill-led side to take a lead of 180 runs. Mohammed Siraj bagged six wickets while Akash Deep took four. In the second innings, Gill oozed his class scoring 161, while KL Rahul (55), Rishabh Pant (65), and Ravindra Jadeja (69*) hit fifties as the visitors declared at 427/6, setting a target of 608 runs for the hosts.

With the ball, India were outstanding in the second innings. Akash Deep came up with a magical effort as he picked six wickets. His staggering spell saw his team bowl out England for 271 to win the game by 336 runs and level the series 1-1.
