Many fans slammed India head coach Gautam Gambhir’s poor team selection on X.
Many Indian cricket fans expressed their anger against head coach Gautam Gambhir on social media after India’s poor bowling attack in the ongoing first test against England. Indian Cricket Team are wrestling with the England Cricket Team in the first test of the five-match series at Headingley, Leeds.
Chasing the target of 371 runs, the Ben Stokes-led side has done a brilliant job on day five. Opener Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett built an opening stand of 188 runs as Indian bowlers failed to get early breakthroughs.
Crawley lost his wicket for 65 runs while Duckett went on to smack a marvellous 149-run knock. England reached 269 runs on the scoreboard for the loss of four wickets at tea break on day 5, needing 102 more runs for victory.

Amid India’s poor bowling bowling show in the second innings of the Headingley test, many cricket fans criticized head coach Gambhir on the micro-blogging platform X (formerly Twitter). “Gautam Gambhir” became a trending topic on X.
While some fans pointed out India’s poor record in tests under coach Gambhir, others questioned his poor team selection against England.
Talking about the match, England skipper Ben Stokes won the toss and opted to bowl first. With centuries by Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant in the first innings, the visitors piled up a big total of 471/10. However, England bounced back with the bat and posted 465/10 with a century by Ollie Pope and a 99-run knock by Harry Brook.
In the second innings, Pant and KL Rahul hammered centuries to drive the scoreboard to 364/10, setting a 371-run target for England. However, Indian bowlers failed to dominate the hosts in the first two sessions of day five. Shardul Thakur and Prasidh Krishna have clinched two wickets each, however, England openers have set the platform for an easy chase.
