Farokh Engineer inaugurates the stand named after him at Old Trafford ahead of the fourth ENG vs IND test

Stands were inaugurated after Farokh Engineer and Clive Lloyd on day one of the fourth ENG vs IND test.
The fourth test between England Cricket Team and Indian Cricket Team commenced on July 23 at Old Trafford, Manchester. Former Indian wicket-keeper Farokh Engineer and former West Indies captain Clive Lloyd were honoured ahead of the start of the play on day one.
Stands were named after Engineer and Lloyd at Old Trafford, Manchestervas both the legends graced the inauguration ceremony. The initiative has been taken by England’s county club, Lancashire.
Both Engineer and Lloyd played county cricket for the Lancashire club. The Indian wicket-keeper played 175 matches for Lancashire from 1968 to 1976, scoring 5,942 runs. After he retired from Indian cricket, Engineer settled in Manchester City in England.

Engineer and Lloyd also attended the fourth test between India and England at Old Trafford, Manchester. Engineer was seen sitting in the stand named after him during the match. Notably, former Indian cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar also attended the ceremony.
Talking about the Manchester test, England skipper Ben Stokes won the toss and opted to field first. England made only one change to their playing XI with spinner Liam Dawson replacing injured Shoaib Bashir. Dawson makes his test comeback after more than eight years.

On the other hand, India made three changes to their playing XI for the Manchester test. The visitors dropped Karun Nair for Sai Sudharsan, while Shardul Thakur and Anshul Kamboj replaced injured Nitish Kumar Reddy and Akash Deep in the playing XI.
Meanwhile, England lead the five-match series 2-1. Hence, the Manchester test is a must-win game for the visitors. Notably, India have never registered a test victory at this venue.
