RCB vs KKR game in IPL 2024 will take place on Friday at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

In the Indian Premier League 2024 Match No. 10, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday, March 29.

Both teams are high on confidence after winning their previous fixtures. While Bengaluru handed a four-wicket defeat to the Punjab Kings, Kolkata won the high-voltage encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad by four runs.

However, RCB suffered a crushing six-wicket defeat against defending champions Chennai Super Kings in the opening fixture of the showpiece event. Meanwhile, the Knight Riders are all set to play their second game in the IPL 2024 tournament.

RCB vs KKR: Head-to-Head Record

Both RCB and KKR have faced each other 32 times in the IPL so far. Kolkata have emerged victorious 18 times, while Bengaluru have won 14 games. In the last six outings, KKR have a stunning record of 4-2 over RCB.

RCB vs KKR: Top five player battles to watch

1. Virat Kohli vs Sunil Narine

RCB’s star opener Virat Kohli played a match-winning knock of 77 runs against PBKS, helping Bengaluru chase the target of 177 runs, but his record against KKR’s willy off-spinner Sunil Narine is not good. The ace spinner has dismissed Kohli four times in T20s.

  • Balls faced: 106
  • Runs scored: 106
  • Dismissed: 4
  • Average: 26.5
  • Strike rate: 100

2. Mohammed Siraj vs Andre Russell

KKR’s ace all-rounder Andre Russell had a stunning game against SRH. Russell was awarded Player of the Match for his knock of 64 runs in 25 balls.

However, his record against RCB’s pacer Mohammed Siraj is concerning. Siraj has dismissed him twice in the shortest format.

  • Balls faced: 19
  • Runs scored: 22
  • Dismissed: 2
  • Average: 11
  • Strike rate: 115.8

3. Varun Chakravarthy vs Glenn Maxwell

RCB’s all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has had a horrible start to his IPL 2024 campaign, registering low scores in his first two innings. Maxwell is very crucial for Bengaluru in the middle stages as he can score quick runs.

His main challenge will be against KKR’s mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy, who has dismissed him twice in T20s. However, Maxwell’s strike rate against Chakravarthy is above 140, which will give him confidence ahead of the high-voltage match.

  • Balls faced: 24
  • Runs scored: 35
  • Dismissed: 3
  • Average: 11.67
  • Strike rate: 145.84

4. Alzzari Joseph vs Shreyas Iyer

RCB star pacer Alzzari Jospeh’s face-off against Knight Riders’ skipper Shreyas Iyer will be the battle to watch out for.

Alzzari will test Iyer with short stuff with his extra pace, as the KKR leader generally struggles against hard-length body-line bowling. The right-arm speedster has dismissed Iyer three times in white-ball cricket.

  • Balls faced: 80
  • Runs scored: 50
  • Dismissed: 3
  • Average: 16.67
  • Strike rate: 62.5

5. Faf du Plessis vs Mitchell Starc

KKR’s Mitchell Starc didn’t enjoy his IPL comeback as he was hammered for over 50 runs against SRH in Kolkata.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru skipper Faf du Plessis has had two low scores in the two games so far in the cash-rich league. The left-arm pacer will be determined to unleash his fiery spell to get rid of the RCB skipper and give his team a great start.
