The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 brought together several experienced players from around the globe and attracted players with records set apart in global T20 cricket. With the start of the CPL, former Indian Premier League (IPL) stars are once again making their presence felt across various CPL franchises.
Currently, the Roston Chase-led side Saint Lucia Kings leads the points table with six points, and are followed by the Guyana Amazon Warriors and Barbados Tridents, who occupy the second and third spots, respectively.
The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are one of the most successful franchises in the history of the IPL, and several world-class players have featured on the Men in Yellow side, who went on to be giants of global T20 cricket. 3. Moeen Ali
Moeen Ali, the England all-rounder, had a decade-long career in the Indian Premier League. Moeen Ali played in the IPL till the 2025 season and is currently part of the CPL season with the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons. He is leading the side and has managed to score 42 runs while taking one wicket this season.
The former England star played for the Chennai Super Kings between 2021 and 2024 and was part of Chennai’s title-winning 2021 and 2023 seasons.
In 48 matches for the Men in Yellow, he amassed 853 runs with the bat and picked 25 wickets with the ball. Overall, he was one of CSK’s most productive players during that phase.
2. Imran Tahir
Another name that is written in golden letters in the history of the Chennai Super Kings. Imran Tahir, the iconic leg-spinner from South Africa, went on to be one of the most recognisable faces of the Caribbean Premier League as well. Leading his side, the Guyana Amazon Warriors, in 2026, he has picked up five wickets in three matches.
His CSK record was impressive. Having played for the Super Kings between 2018 and 2021, Tahir played 27 IPL matches and took 35 wickets at an average of 20.31 and an economy of 7.11. He was also part of CSK’s title-winning teams in 2018 and 2021.
1. Jason Holder
Jason Holder might be remembered mostly as a Sunrisers Hyderabad or Gujarat Titans cricketer in the IPL, but he made his debut with the Chennai Super Kings in 2013, where he also picked up two wickets in six appearances for the franchise.
Another captain in the house, Holder, is leading the franchise St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and has picked up seven wickets in four games, putting on an impressive show with the ball. His contributions with the bat have not been significant, as he has returned with 41 runs so far this season.
