Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, and Rahul Dravid won awards at the CEAT Cricket Awards.

The annual CEAT Cricket Awards was held on August 21, Wednesday, in Mumbai. In the event, India captain Rohit Sharma, former head coach Rahul Dravid, and BCCI secretary Jay Shah won awards for their achievements in the past year.

Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami, R Ashwin, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur, among others, were also winners on this evening. A couple of overseas players – Phil Salt and Tim Southee – too were awarded at the CEAT Cricket Awards for their stunning performances in the shortest format.

Rohit Sharma, who retired from T20Is after taking India to the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 trophy, bagged the top award of the evening: Men’s International Cricketer of the Year.

Kohli and Shami were named the Men’s ODI Batter of the Year and Men’s ODI Bowler of the Year, respectively. They were the leading run-scorer and wicket-taker at last year’s World Cup.

Jay Shah was awarded for excellence in sports administration for successfully hosting the Indian Premier League and the World Cup 2023.

After receiving his award, Shah said, “As I told you in Rajkot, that we are going to host our flag in Barbados, and our captain did that. If we have the blessing of 1.4 billion people, then we can do the same in the Champions Trophy, World Test Championship final and the Women’s T20 World Cup.”

Dravid was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award. There were awards handed out for domestic cricket and women’s cricket as well.

Women’s Indian bowler of the year: Deepti Sharma

Fastest double-century in women’s Test: Shafali Verma

Women’s Indian Batter of the Year: Smriti Mandhana

Domestic Cricketer of the Year: R. Sai Kishore

Lifetime Achievement: Rahul Dravid

Award for excellence in sports administration: Jay Shah

Most matches as captain in women’s T20I history: Harmanpreet Kaur
