Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will return for India in the ODI series against Australia.
Indian Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir broke the silence on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s chances to play ICC Cricket World Cup 2027. He said that it’s important to stay in present and hopes that both the greats will have a successful Australia tour.
The Indian Cricket Team is all set to tour Australia for a three-match ODI series and the five-match T20I series. The 50-over series will mark the return of Rohit and Kohli to the Indian setup after a long gap of seven months.
Having retired from tests and T20Is, Rohit and Kohli are only available in ODIs. Their last outing for India came in the final of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and now they would be keen to make a mark in the series against Australia, especially with their future under scanner.
For the last few months, there have been a lot of talks about the future of the duo in the ODIs. With Rohit getting replaced as a captain, the talks grew even larger and so far there has been no clarity if they will be playing ICC Cricket World Cup 2027, for which both have expressed the desire to win.
