India last played an ODI series against Afghanistan last month, defeating them 3–0. Before the start of the series against England, the India were fully engaged in training sessions. However, during the training sessions, people noticed that head coach Gautam Gambhir wasn’t seen talking much with Virat Kohli.

According to Times Now, Gambhir was continuously seen engaging with other senior players, including Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and KL Rahul, but there were no conversations with Virat Kohli. Kohli spent most of his time with batting coach Sitanshu Kotak in an extended net session.
As of now, there is no confirmation of any cold war between the senior player and the head coach. However, over the years, people have noticed some obvious differences between the two, which is once again fueling these rumours.
Gambhir is coming off two back-to-back T20I series losses, first to Ireland and then to England, where the India got whitewashed. He is facing criticism from both the media and the fans back home. These rumours circulating at this time only make things worse for him.
