Jasprit Bumrah picked up seven wickets in the Lord’s test including a fifer in the first innings.

Herschelle Gibbs, a former batsman for the South African Cricket Team, attacked the Indian Cricket Team, claiming that their “lack of intent” caused them to lose the third test match against the England Cricket Team at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. He specifically targeted Jasprit Bumrah while alluding to his world record with the bat.

For both India and England, the equation was straightforward before the start of play on day five. England needed six wickets to win, while the visitors needed 135 runs.

With the dismissals of Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Washington Sundar, and Nitish Kumar Reddy in the opening session, India’s chase got off to the worst possible start. England only needed two wickets at lunchtime, but India needed an additional 81 runs.

The outcome of the match appeared to be inevitable. But Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja put on a fantastic display, raising expectations for a victory. However, England won by 22 runs in the last session, proving that the challenge was too difficult.

While everyone is celebrating India’s heroic battle against England in the Lord’s test, even though they were 112/8 at one point, former South Africa batsman Herschelle Gibbs criticised the Shubman Gill-led team for their “lack of intent” on the last day of the third test.

Following the defeat, Herschelle Gibbs offered a startling analysis of India’s setback, claiming that the “lack of intent” was the primary cause.

Came close in the end but lack of intent cost India the game,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Fans initially believed Gibbs was interrogating Jadeja after the left-handed batsman stood at the crease for 181 balls and scored 61 runs. However, Gibbs made it apparent that he was referring to Jasprit Bumrah when he responded to a user.

Not to be overlooked is the 35-run partnership between Bumrah and Jadeja. In the middle, the pair faced 132 balls. Ben Stokes eventually took out the Indian pacer after he had scored five runs off 54 balls.

“Bumrah has most runs in an over”- Herschelle Gibbs questioned the pacer’s intent

Gibbs mentioned that Jasprit Bumrah, an Indian pacer, had once broken Stuart Broad’s record for most runs in a test over. In the fourth and last innings at Lord’s, he also questioned the intentions of the top-ranked bowler with the bat.

Bumrah has the most runs in an over for a batsman in test cricket.. .. where was that intent today?” Gibbs said while replying to a user.

Gibbs further said Bumrah could have easily hit the ball he got out to for a six if he tried to.

when he scored that 35 in one over he pulled and hooked some sixes didn’t he ? The ball he got out today, with some intent he could have done the same not so,” said Gibbs.

England now has a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. Both teams will next meet each other in Manchester in the fourth test, beginning July 23.
