Asia Cup 2025 will begin on 9th September.
After the enthralling test series against the England Cricket Team, the focus of the Indian Cricket Team now shifts towards Asia Cup 2025. The tournament will be played in September in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and will see eight teams taking part in the event.
Asia Cup 2025 will begin on 9th September and the final is scheduled to take place on 28th September. The Indian Cricket Team will be opening their campaign against the UAE at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
With Asia Cup 2025 around the corner, the developments related to the squad have been leaked. As per a report in PTI, it is learned that Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to be include test captain Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan in the squad for the Asia Cup 2025.
These three should walk into any T20 squad despite a stupendous show by Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma – BCCI source

The reports added that the BCCI feels that Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan will get enough amount of rest after the test series against England. The source claimed that despite the heroics of Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma, the governing body is keen to add the above-mentioned trio.
Speaking to PTI, the source said:
“There is a five week break and with no cricket around, these three should walk into any T20 squad despite stupendous show by Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma.”
“In 21 days in Asia Cup, if one plays till final, there are 6 T20 games and that’s not much of a workload. But obviously with 17 member squads allowed for the Asia Cup, selectors will weigh options carefully.”
Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal had a terrific series in England, while Sai Sudharsan had his moments. But the trio were in a stupendous touch during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 as they were amongst the top run-getters in the tournament.
With Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma doing great in the format, the addition of Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal will come as a massive headache for team management. It remains to be seen who will form the top order for the team.
