The ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 will commence on October 2.
The 14th edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup will be played next year on the African continent. The tournament will be co-hosted by Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Namibia, as 14 different nations will compete against each other to secure the coveted title.
Throughout the whole competition, 57 matches will be hosted at a total of 12 venues across three countries. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 will commence on October 2 in Windhoek with the Super Series. The Super Series will be a three-team stage to determine the final Group Stage team.
The winning side will later join the other teams in the group stage. Out of the 12 teams, the best seven teams progress to the Super 7 phase. The top four teams will move on to the semi-finals round, and the summit clash is set for 21 November next year. With a year remaining, the ICC has confirmed the groups for the first round.

India have been drawn in group A of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 alongside arch-rivals Pakistan and defending champions Australia. Afghanistan and co-hosts, Zimbabwe, are also a part of the group, with one spot remaining for the team, which will qualify through the Super Series.
Group B will be headlined by co-hosts South Africa, England, and New Zealand. The two Asian sides in the group are Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are likely to retire from professional cricket after the 2027 World Cup. Meanwhile, the few players from the aging Australian squad might also play their last major tournament. In actual terms, the tournament will be a swansong to multiple cricket icons, who have made numerous fans fall in love with the sport.
However, it remains to be seen which teams join the group stage of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 on the African soil.
