Massive boost for Gujarat Titans ahead of IPL 2024 as Rashid Khan set to make comeback in Ireland T20Is

Rashid Khan has been out of action since completion of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.
Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan is all set to make his comeback in upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) for Gujarat Titans (GT). Rashid has been away from the cricketing action after the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. Rashid suffered back injury and underwent a surgery. Rashid will be playing a vital role for GT in the IPL 2024.
Rashid Khan missed the T20I series against India in January. He also missed the ODI and test series against Ireland. Rashid has confirmed that he will start training and will make his comeback against Ireland in the upcoming T20I series. Rashid returned to training during Afghanistan’s first ODI against Ireland on Saturday.
Rashid set to make his comeback
Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan will make his comeback from the second T20I scheduled to be played on 15th March on Friday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah. During a video interaction with Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), Rashid revealed that he is excited to represent Afghanistan once again in international cricket.
Rashid said, “The plan is to represent the country in the upcoming series and the training has been underway and today was the second day and thankfully it went well and I hope that the following few days will also be well so that I can wear the national jersey again and continue to do well for my country.” Rashid is one of the top all-rounder in international cricket.
Rashid Khan also informed that he delayed his surgery for few months due to ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India in October and November. He revealed that the doctors suggested him to have a surgery before the tournament. Rashid’s aim is to get success for his national side. Rashid will join GT camp after the three-match T20I series against Ireland.
