Both teams will share one point each if GT vs KKR match gets washed out in Ahmedabad.
In match No. 63 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, the Gujarat Titans (GT) are hosting Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 13. However, the proceedings of GT’s must-win match against KKR have been delayed due to cloudy weather and persistent rain.
Hardik Pandya’s departure from the franchise, following an all-cash deal with the Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2024 has turned the tables for the Gujarat franchise. The Titans, who named Shubman as their new skipper ahead of the IPL 2024, haven’t got much success under his captaincy and Gill has failed to create impact as both a batsman and a leader.
In the ongoing edition, Gill-led GT have played 12 matches and emerged victorious on just five occasions, whereas losing seven games. Gujarat have 10 points with NRR of -1.063. They are currently ranked eighth and are on the verge of elimination from the IPL in 2024.
What happens if the GT vs KKR match gets washed out due to rain?
If the GT vs KKR match gets washed out tonight in Ahmedabad, both teams will share one point each. In such scenario, GT will end up having 11 points with one match left
If they manage to win their last match of the league stage against Sunrisers Hyderabad, they will end the league stage with 13 points, which won’t be enough to qualify for the playoffs.
Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata are already qualified for the playoffs. The two-time champions, KKR, are sitting at the top of the IPL 2024 standings with 18 points. If the match ends tonight in a washout, KKR will reach 19 points and ensure a top-two finish in the league stage.
