GT20 Canada 2023: Schedule, Squads, Venues, When and Where to watch

The third edition of the Global T20 Canada (GT20 Canada 2023) will kick off on July 20 (Thursday).

The Global T20 Canada (GT20 Canada 2023) tournament is the T20 league played in Canada. It was introduced in 2018 and has hosted two successful seasons so far, in 2018 and 2019. The third edition of the league is all set to begin on Thursday (July 20, 2023) with a total of six teams. The Surrey Jaguars and Mississauga Panthers will make their debuts in GT20 Canada.

They will replace the Edmonton Royals and Winnipeg Hawks in the competition. Other teams to take part are the Brampton Wolves, Montreal Tigers, Toronto Nationals, and Vancouver Knights. This tournament will see some of the biggest names featured in the competition.

The GT20 Canada is owned by Bombay Sports Limited. The upcoming edition will have a total of six teams. Two teams from last season in 2019 have withdrawn, and two new teams will make their debut. The upcoming season will have a total of 25 games between the six teams, including the playoffs.

Every team will play seven group matches, and the top four teams will qualify for the playoffs. The first game will take place at the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario, between the Brampton Wolves and Mississauga Panthers on Thursday (July 20). All the games in the tournament will take place at the CAA Center in Ontario.

The final match of the GT20 Canada 2023 is scheduled to take place on August 6 (Sunday). The Vancouver Knights won the first edition in 2018, beating the Cricket West Indies B Team in the final. Meanwhile, in 2019, the Knights failed to defend their title and ended up as runners-up against the Winnipeg Hawks.
