According to a PTI report, GT are considering releasing Indian middle-order batter Shahrukh Khan and New Zealand all-rounder Glenn Phillips before the IPL 2027 mini-auction.
The franchise could look to make these changes to strengthen its squad for the upcoming season. Although the Gujarat team is quite stable, the management might make changes to improve the team’s overall balance.
Shahrukh was expected to strengthen the middle order, while Phillips offers experience as a batter and all-rounder. However, both failed to do their job in previous seasons. Moreover, the Titans are likely to retain South African player Connor Esterhuizen ahead of IPL 2027.
Now, GT will aim to build a strong squad and challenge for the title again after finishing as runners-up in IPL 2026.
