Hardik Pandya will play a key role for India in Asia Cup 2025.

Indian Cricket Team all-rounder Hardik Pandya has checked in at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) ahead of Asia Cup 2025. As per a report in the Times of India, it is learned that the right-hander will be undergoing a routine fitness assessment ahead of squad selection.

Hardik Pandya has been putting in the hard yards ahead of Asia Cup 2025. The all-rounder has been training since mid-July and will be a key player for the team in the upcoming tournament. He last played competitive cricket during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

The all-rounder played a vital role for the Mumbai Indians (MI) with the bat and ball, taking them to the playoffs. Hardik Pandya will be fresh going into Asia Cup 2025 as he got ample rest, and since he only plays white-ball cricket, he wasn’t part of the test series against England.

The reports claimed that before Hardik Pandya, even Shreyas Iyer gave a fitness test at the CoE. He was there in Bengaluru between July 27 and 29. This suggests that he is in the scheme of things to be picked for Asia Cup 2025. Notably, his last outing for India in T20Is came in 2023.

Shreyas Iyer came back in the reckoning after his heroics in IPL 2025. Leading Punjab Kings (PBKS), he was one of the best players in the league with around 600 runs. Also, there were some reports that he will be there in all formats for India from now on.

Coming to Asia Cup 2025, the tournament will begin on 9th September and will be played across two venues in the United Arab Emirates, in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The final of the event is scheduled to be played on 28th September.

India will open their campaign in the tournament against the UAE on 10th September. The game will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. They would be keen to defend their title, which they won in 2023.
