In the ongoing tournament, the Rohit Sharma-led India started their campaign on a winning note. The Men in Blue crushed Paul Stirling’s Ireland by eight wickets at the Nassau County Stadium on June 5.
On the other hand, the Babar Azam-led Pakistan started their T20 World Cup 2024 journey on a horrific note. The Men in Green were defeated by co-hosts United States of America (USA) in a thrilling match on June 6 in Dallas. The clash went into the Super Over and the USA clinched the Super Over by five runs.
This is going to be history: Hardik Pandya ahead of IND vs PAK clash
In India’s opening game against the Irish side, Pandya scalped three wickets. In the upcoming clash against Pakistan, the Men in Blue will hope that he once again provides crucial breakthroughs with the ball and also chips in valuable runs with the bat.
“Standing in big games is very exciting for me. I find it extra special and Pakistan has been one team where I have been very fortunate, I have been able to do well in a lot of games. Hardik Pandya told Star Sports.
Speaking more about the high-profile match, Hardik reckoned the game will be a historic one as it will take place in the United States for the first time.
“It all comes down to the vibe. Hold your breath, this is a request. This is not a fight, this is going to be history,” said Pandya.
