GT captain Hardik Pandya predicts Sai Sudharsan's Indian Cricket future
Hardik Pandya backs Sai Sudharsan to make India debut in future after his match-winning performance against Delhi Capitals.
Defending Champions Gujarat Titans kept their dominance going in IPL 2023. Carrying on from their 2022 form, they registered back to back wins in this year’s Indian Premier League as well. Gujarat won their encounter against Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Chasing 163, the Titans defeated the Capitals by 6 wickets. Delhi had a disappointing performance with the bat as well as in defending their 162 total. B Sai Sudharsan and David Miller made sure Titans do not fall short of their required total to stay Number One in the points table.
GT captain Hardik Pandya's prediction on Sai Sudharsan
Gujarat skipper Hardik Pandya looks confident with his team and for the upcoming games as well. The Titans have been dominating the league since they made their entry into the IPL. Pandya was happy about the team’s atmosphere and said, “We tell the boys to enjoy themselves there and this helps you in taking the right decision”. Hardik Pandya also credited his bowlers for the success against Delhi Capitals. Hardik also praised Player of the Match Sai Sudharsan for his innings. He said, “He has been batting beautifully. You can see the fruit of his hard work, in two years he will definitely do something great in franchise cricket as well as for Indian Cricket”. Coming in at Number 3 Sudharsan weathered the storm for Titans.
David Warner not too happy with DC's batting
Once again Delhi Capitals failed to get a good start. Opener Prithvi Shaw and Number 3 Mitchell Marsh fell cheaply. They both were back in the hut in powerplay. David Warner was not too happy with the top order losing their wickets in power play. Warner said, “Initially it swung more than we anticipated but losing wickets in power play is a struggle for every team”. Even after getting two early wickets, Capitals could not carry the momentum forward in the game. He credited Sudharsan and Miller for Titans' win.
Sai Sudharsan's calm head gives Gujarat a win
Young Sai Sudharsan came in at a crucial phase of the Titans' innings. After losing the first two wickets early, Sudharsan built two partnerships to chase down the target given by Capitals. Sudharsan scored 62 runs in 48 balls. In his entire innings, he hit only 4 fours and 2 sixes. After getting the man of the match award, Sudharsan said He was not under pressure when he came in to bat. He said, “My turn was to take the game deep, it was about weathering the storm early on because it was seaming early in the inning”. Sudharsan is considered one of the rising stars in the league.
