Hardik Pandya also missed the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan.

The Indian team will be touring England for a five-match T20I series and a three-match ODI series. The Indian team recently played Afghanistan and defeated them in both ODI matches to seal the series win and kick off their preparations for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 in style.

India are trying to tick all the boxes before the World Cup as they focus on preparing for the bouncy South African pitches. They have given an early opportunity to hit-the-deck bowlers like Gurnoor Brar, who could become an asset for the team in South Africa.

However, the team is missing their pace-bowling all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, who is currently out due to an injury. Hardik provides the team with the option of a strong lower-middle-order batter as well as a fifth bowling option, both of which are very important.

He also got injured during the last World Cup and was ruled out, after which the Indian team lost the final in his absence. Hardik’s availability is therefore very important for the team, and he might miss the England ODI series as well
