Indian women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur, along with 18 other India cricketers, have nominated themselves for the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2024–25 draft, which is scheduled to take place on September 1.
However, wicket-keeper batter Richa Ghosh and premier seamer Renuka Thakur have not nominated themselves for the WBBL draft. Sajana Sajeevan is part of the draft for the first time. Sajeevan made her Mumbai Indians Women and Indian cricket team debut earlier this year.
Harmanpreet was the only Indian player to get picked in the draft last year in 2023. The veteran cricketer was roped in by the Melbourne Renegades Women. The right-handed batter smashed 321 runs in 14 matches in the WBBL 2023.

The WBBL is growing every season and has caught the attention of many female cricketers around the world. This time, 80 women cricketers have already agreed to participate in the draft.
