Harshal Patel picked a three-wicket haul against CSK in Dharamsala.

In match No. 53 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Punjab Kings (PBKS) pacer Harshal Patel showed brilliant skills as he bowled a perfect slow yorker to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Shardul Thakur and shattered his stumps at the HPCA stadium in Dharamsala on May 5.

After being asked to bat first, Chennai had a tough day with the bat as they managed to reach 167/9 in 20 overs. Veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja top scored for his side with a 26-ball 46. While skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (32), Daryl Mitchell (30), and Moeen Ali (17) contributed with the bat as the visitors reached over 160 runs.

For PBKS, Harshal and Rahul Chahar scalped three wickets each. Arshdeep Singh bagged two wickets, and stand-in skipper Sam Curran took one scalp.

Captain Curran brought his strike pacer Harshal into the attack to bowl the 19th over of the first innings. In the third ball of the over, Harshal bowled a slower off-cutter towards Thakur, who moved out from the crease in an attempt to go for a big shot.

However, the ball dipped under the bat at the right time and crashed into the stumps of Thakur. Soon after the dismissal, in-form pacer Harshal celebrated while Shardul went back into the dugout with a disappointing face.

All-rounder Shardul scored 17 runs off 11 deliveries with the help of two boundaries and one maximum, while Harshal finished his quota of four overs with 3/24.
