Harshit Rana was also ruled out of last two T20Is against England.

Indian Cricket Team pacer Harshit Rana has missed a lot of action this year. He was ruled out of T20 World Cup and the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 due to a knee injury. He underwent knee surgery and remained out of the action for almost four months from February to May.

In June, he made a comeback in the series against Ireland and also was part of England tour. Ahead of the tour, he was also added to the India squad for the third ODI against Afghanistan but did not play in the encounter.

The right-arm pacer featured in both T20Is against Ireland in Belfast on June 26 and 28, clinching a total of four wickets across two games, including a three-wicket haul. India lost both games and suffered a disastrous 0-2 whitewash against the hosts.

Later, Rana was picked in the 2nd T20I in Manchester, in which he clinched one wicket. In the 3rd game in Nottingham, the right-arm pacer bagged two scalps. He was too expensive in both games, giving runs at an economy of around 10..

The 24-year-old did not feature in the 4th T20I against England in Bristol. At the toss, Iyer informed that Harshit has been ruled out due to injury without elaborating about the exact nature of his injury. He was also ruled out of the fifth game. Now, according to reports, the right-arm pacer will also not be part of the ENG vs IND ODI series.

According to a report by journalist Vikrant Gupta of Aaj Tak, Rana has been ruled out of the ODI series against England due to a hamstring injury. He is suffering from a Grade 1 bicep femoris muscle tear.

Notably, Harshit was cleared by Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Centre of Excellence (COE) to tour Ireland and England but his hamstring issue resurfaced within just 10 days.

Meanwhile, the ENG vs IND ODI series will commence on July 14 with the opening game at Edgbaston. The next encounters will be played at Cardiff and Lord’s on July 16 and 19 respectively.

After a series defeat in the T20I series, the Men in Blue will aim for a big comeback in the ODI games. Shubman Gill will captain the side in all three games, which will also see the return of Virat Kohli in the 50-over format.

Harshit will be a big miss; however, the return of senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah will be a big boost for India’s bowling unit.
