Not everyone gets the opportunity to play 100 Test matches for their country. Ishant Sharma is one of the 14 Indian cricketers to have represented the country in 100 or more Test matches. He has been one of India’s finest pacers in the history of Test cricket.
He made his debut for the Indian team in 2007 in a Test series against Bangladesh. Ishant was only 18 years old when he represented India in Test cricket and went on to play all three formats for the country.
In his career, he played 199 international matches, including 105 Tests, 80 ODIs and 14 T20Is. In international cricket, he took 434 wickets, including 311 in Test cricket.
However, the team management moved on from him in 2021, and since then, he has not featured in an international match for India.
His last international appearance came on November 25, 2021, against New Zealand. With Ishant having been out of the Indian team for over four years, cricket fans are unsure whether or not he has officially retired from international cricket.

A few of his other teammates, like Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, and Ravichandran Ashwin, who were part of the golden era of the Indian Test team, have already announced their retirements from international cricket.
