5. Alex Hales – 147

England hold the record for the top three highest ODI scores by a team. The second-highest total they scored was against Australia in June 2018 in Nottingham. In that game, Alex Hales slammed an incredible century. Hales added two 150+ runs partnerships with Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow.
England finished with 481/6, and Hales scored a 62-ball ton. He made 147 off 92 balls, with 16 fours and five sixes. Australia made 239 in reply, and England won the game by 242 runs.
4. Travis Head – 152

Explosive opener Travis Head has scored the fourth-highest score in the England vs Australia ODIs. He did it at the MCG in November 2022. It was a 48-over match, and Australia made 355/5 in their innings.
Head scored a 91-ball century and registered his career-best ODI score of 152 off 130 balls, with 16 fours and four sixes. David Warner (106 off 102) supported him well with a century. England were bowled out for 142, losing by 221 runs.
3. Shane Watson – 161*

Shane Watson slammed some of the finest ODI knocks in Australian cricket. One of them came in an England vs Australia ODI at the MCG in January 2011.
England made 294 in the first innings. Opening the batting, Watson remained unbeaten on 161 off 150 balls, with 12 fours and four sixes. Australia made 297/4 in 49.1 overs, and Watson hit the winning runs.
2. Robin Smith – 167*

Former English middle-order batter Robin Smith was the first-ever batter to score over 150 runs in an innings in England vs Australia ODIs. But unfortunately, it came in a losing cause. It was an ODI in Birmingham in May 1993.
England were struggling at 3/55, then Smith registered a splendid century, scoring 167 runs off 163 balls, with 17 fours and three sixes. He took England to a challenging score of 277/5. But Mark Waugh”s century (113) helped Australia chase down the target.
1. Jason Roy – 180

Jason Roy holds the record for the highest individual score in England vs Australia ODIs. He achieved it in a high-scoring chase at the MCG in January 2018. Batting first, Australia posted a big total of 304/8. Chasing the score, England lost wickets regularly, but Roy kept his side in the hunt.
He brought up a 32-ball fifty and reached his hundred off 92 balls. Then he breached the 150-run mark off 126 balls. Roy ended up registering his career-best score of 180 off 151 balls, made with 16 fours and five sixes. England made 308/5 in 48.5 overs and won the game.
