Harmanpreet Kaur has registered the highest individual score for India in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is one of the most awaited events in women’s cricket. The inaugural edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup was played in 2009. Australia have been the most dominating team in the history of this competition.

The prestigious tournament has seen many great batters who have scored runs against the quality bowling attacks. These batters have played match-winning knocks for their nation and also helped their side win the ICC Women’s T20 title.

From Australian legend Meg Lanning to Indian great Harmanpreet Kaur, the tournament has seen many skilled batters blow away the opposition.

On that note, let’s take a look at the top-highest individual scores in the history of the tournament till now.

Highest individual scores in Women’s T20 World Cup history:

5. Muneeba Ali (PAK-W): 102 runs

Opener Muneeba Ali became the first Pakistan women’s team cricketer to register a century in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup history.

The 27-year-old achieved the historic feat during the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 in a game against Ireland in Cape Town. The wicket-keeper batter smashed 102 runs off 68 deliveries, including 14 fours.

Muneeba’s knock helped the Women in Green post 165/5 in 20 overs. While chasing, Ireland were bundled out for 95 runs. Pakistan won the match by 70 runs. Muneeba was named the Player of the Match for her stunning century.

4. Harmanpreet Kaur (IND-W) – 103 runs

India women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur is also the only Indian women’s team batter to hit a century in the Women’s T20 World Cup. Harmanpreet achieved this glorious milestone during the 2018 edition against New Zealand in Providence.

Harmanpreet’s 103 off 51 balls, including seven fours and eight sixes, powered India to 194/5 in 20 overs. While chasing, New Zealand women were restricted to 160/9. India won the match by 34 runs. Kaur duly bagged the Player of the Match award.

3. Heather Knight (ENG-W) – 108* runs

Heather Knight holds the highest individual score by an England woman in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Knight achieved this feat during the 2020 edition against Thailand in Canberra.

Batting first, England lost two wickets inside the first two overs. However, Heather played an unbeaten knock of 108 runs off 66 deliveries, with 13 fours and four sixes, which guided England to 176/2.

While chasing, Thailand were restricted to 78/7 and lost the match by 98 runs. Heather Knight was awarded Player of the Match for her 108*.

2. Deandra Dottin (WI-W) – 112* runs

West Indies batter Deandra Dottin is the first women cricketer to hit a century in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup history. Dottin achieved this huge feat during the Women’s T20 World Cup 2010 in a game against South Africa in Basseterre, St Kitts.

The all-rounder played a match-winning knock of 112 runs off 45 balls, including seven fours and nine sixes. Dottin’s knock propelled the West Indies to 175/5.

While chasing, South Africa managed to score 158/4 and lost by 17 runs. Dottin also took one wicket. For her all-round performance, Dottin was handed the Player of the Match Award.

1. Meg Lanning (AUS-W) – 126 runs

Meg Lanning is one of the most successful cricketers in women’s cricket. The Australian legend has won five ICC Women’s T20 World Cup titles as Australia’s skipper.

Lanning has also smashed the highest individual score in the Women’s T20 World Cup history so far. The former Aussie captain achieved this historic feat during the 2014 edition against Ireland in Sylhet.

Lanning’s stunning 126 off 65 balls, including 18 fours and four maximums, was vital in Australia reaching 191/4. While defending, Australian bowlers restricted Ireland to 113/7 and won the match by 78 runs.
