Reduced to 25/3 in the first innings, India were rescued by veterans MS Dhoni and Yuvraj who combined for a 256-run knock. Dhoni played a brilliant knock, scoring 134 runs off 122 balls, including 10 fours and six sixes.
The hosts eventually won the nail-biting game by 15 runs.
4. Navjot Singh Sidhu – 134*, Gwalior, 1993
Known for his towering sixes against spinners, Navjot Singh Sidhu showed immense maturity in the sixth ODI of the India vs England 1993 series in Gwalior.
Chasing 257 runs, India lost wickets regularly, but Sidhu held on to his end, scoring an unbeaten 134 off 160 balls to lead the hosts to a three-wicket win.
He was named Player of the Match for his efforts.
3. Rohit Sharma – 137*, Nottingham, 2018
Rohit Sharma was at his best during the first ODI of India’s tour of England 2018 in Nottingham.
Chasing a challenging target of 269 runs, the Indian opener made the game completely one-sided with an unbeaten 137 off 114 balls, including 15 fours and four sixes.
Rohit added 60 runs with Shikhar Dhawan before stitching a 167-run stand with Virat Kohli to seal the game for the visitors.
2. Yuvraj Singh – 138*, Rajkot, 2008
Legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh slammed an unbeaten 138-run knock against England in Rajkot in 2008.
Yuvraj’s explosive innings came off just 78 balls and it featured 16 fours and six sixes. He joined forces with MS Dhoni for a 105-run partnership for the fifth wicket, helping India reach 387 runs in their first innings.
The Men in Blue won the game by 158 runs and Yuvraj was named Player of the Match for his efforts.
1. Yuvraj Singh – 150, Cuttack, 2017
Yuvraj Singh holds the record for the highest individual score by an Indian batsman against England in ODI cricket for his 150-run knock in Cuttack in 2017.
What makes this innings special is the fact that it came during Yuvraj’s comeback to the Indian ODI team. His brilliant knock of 150 runs, which included 21 fours and 3 sixes, came off just 127 balls and helped India reach a huge total of 381 runs.
India won the match by 15 runs.
