Three Indian batsmen have hit double hundreds in India vs Bangladesh tests.

Indian batsmen have dominated the India vs Bangladesh tests over the years, helping their side defeat Bangladesh in 11 out of 13 tests they have contested, while the remaining two tests ended in draws.

Four out of the top five run-scorers in the IND vs BAN test matches are Indians, and all five of the top five highest individual scores in these contests have been made by Indian batsmen.

There have been 28 centuries hit in the India vs Bangladesh tests, three of them are double hundreds. On that note, let’s take a look at highest individual scores made in India vs Bangladesh tests.

5. Rahul Dravid – 160 in Chattogram, 2004

During the second test at Chattogram in the 2004 test series, Rahul Dravid scored 160 runs in 304 balls in India’s first innings. Gautam Gambhir also scored a century where India posted 540 runs on the board.

In reply, Bangladesh were bundled out for 333 in their first innings. India enforced the follow-on and bowled out the hosts for 124, winning the match by an innings and 83 runs. Irfan Pathan picked up seven wickets in the match.

4. Shikhar Dhawan – 173 in Fatullah, 2015

Former opener Shikhar Dhawan played an attacking knock of 173 runs in 195 balls, including 23 fours, in the one-off test match in Fatullah in 2015. His opening partner, Murali Vijay, scored 150 runs, while Ajinkya Rahane scored 98 as India amassed 462 in their first innings.

The match ended in a draw as rain wiped out plenty of time from the test.

3. Virat Kohli – 204 in Hyderabad, 2017

In 2017, Bangladesh toured India during Virat Kohli’s dream patch and suffered the wrath of the former India captain. In the Hyderabad test, Kohli cracked a double century, scoring 204 runs in India’s first innings with the help of 24 fours. Vijay and Saha also recorded centuries, helping India to a huge total of 687 runs.

Bangladesh replied with 388 runs in their first innings. India then set the visitors a target of 459 runs and bowled out them for 250 runs to win the game.

2. Mayank Agarwal – 243 in Indore, 2019

In the Indore test between India and Bangladesh in 2019, opener Mayank Agarwal starred for the hosts with a double century. In reply to Bangladesh’s first innings total of only 150, Agarwal scored 243 runs in 330 balls with the help of 28 fours and eight sixes.

His double ton helped India post 493. The visitors were then bowled out for 213 in their second innings and lost by an innings and 130 runs.

1. Sachin Tendulkar – 248 in Dhaka, 2004

Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for the highest individual score in the India vs Bangladesh tests. During the first test in Dhaka in 2004, Tendulkar scored 248* runs off 379 balls, with 35 fours in his innings, in reply to Bangladesh’s first innings total of 184.

The hosts were bowled out for 202 in their second innings and lost by an innings and 140 runs. Irfan Pathan took 11 wickets in the match. 248* by Sachin against Bangladesh in 2004 is also his highest score in test cricket.
