Batting at No. 4, Shreyas Iyer scored his maiden ODI century against New Zealand in Hamilton in 2020.
Batting first, India made a challenging total of 347/4 on the back of Shreyas’ sublime knock of 103 runs off 107 balls, which included 11 fours and one six.
Despite Iyer’s brilliance, India lost the game by four wickets.
4. 105 vs New Zealand, Mumbai, 2023
Shreyas Iyer played a terrific knock of 105 runs against New Zealand in Mumbai in the semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Batting first, India made 397/4 courtesy of Iyer’s 105 off only 70 balls, which included four fours and eight sixes.
Iyer capitalized on the base created by Virat Kohli (117) and Shubman Gill (80) to guide India to the final.
3. 105 vs Australia, Indore, 2023
One of Iyer’s most memorable ODI innings came in Indore against Australia in 2023. Iyer’s 105-run knock, which consisted of 11 fours and three sixes, propelled the hosts to a massive first-innings score of 399 runs.
Iyer was well supported by Shubman Gill, who also racked up an impressive ton, scoring 104 off 97 balls. India won the game by 99 runs (DLS).
2. 113* vs South Africa, Ranchi 2022
Iyer’s second ODI century came in Ranchi during South Africa’s tour of India in 2022. Chasing a 279-run target, the hosts were led to victory by Shreyas Iyer, who top-scored with an unbeaten 113 off 111 balls.
The No. 4 batsman joined hands with Ishan Kishan to add 161 runs for the third wicket. Iyer’s superb innings included 15 fours. India won the game by seven wickets.
1. 128* vs Netherlands, Bengaluru, 2023
Shreyas Iyer registered his highest ODI score of 128* during the league stage game of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 against the Netherlands in Bengaluru.
Opting to bat first, India notched up a huge total of 410/4 on the back of Iyer’s stunning century, which included 10 fours and five sixes. He put on 208 runs with KL Rahul for the fourth-wicket partnership, setting the stage for a huge total for the hosts,
India won the game by 160 runs and Iyer was named Player of the Match.
