Top 5 highest team totals in ICC Champions Trophy history

The first edition of the ICC Champions Trophy was played in 1998.
The ICC Champions Trophy is widely considered one of the toughest ICC tournaments. Unlike the World Cups, where teams have time to recover from defeats, the Champions Trophy is a competition where a single loss can lead to elimination.
Over the years, the tournament has faced criticism from a few fans. While some enjoy the thrill of the competition, others argue that it undermines the value of a 50-over World Cup. After an eight-year break, the Champions Trophy returned in 2025 and was played across Pakistan and Dubai.
Top five highest team totals in ICC Champions Trophy history:
5. India – 331/7 vs South Africa, 2013 Cardiff
South Africa were on the receiving end against India when the Men In Blue posted a massive total of 331 at Cardiff in 2023.
Batting first, the top-order pair of Rohit Sharma (65) and Shikhar Dhawan (114) laid the foundation for a big total. Ravindra Jadeja later applied finishing touch, scoring 47 off 29 balls.
India ultimately won the game by 26 runs and Shikhar Dhawan was named Player of the Match.
4. Pakistan – 338/4 vs India, 2017, The Oval
Pakistan’s highest Champions Trophy total is 338 runs, which they made against India in the final of 2017 edition at The Oval.
Pakistan dismantled the Indian bowling attack with opener Fakhar Zaman starring with a 114-run knock. Fakhar stitched a 128-run partnership with Azhar Ali to put Pakistan in a strong position.
Pakistan won the game by 180 runs to clinch their first Champions Trophy title.
3. New Zealand – 347/4 vs USA, 2004, The Oval
New Zealand’s highest total in the ICC Champions Trophy is 347 runs, which they piled up against USA at The Oval in 2004.
Batting first, the Kiwis got off to a brilliant start with a 157-run partnership for the third wicket. Nathan Astle (145) and Scott Styris (75) led the charge, while Craig McMillan provided the perfect finish with a quickfire 64 off just 27 balls.

2. England – 351/8 vs Australia, 2025, Lahore
England recorded their own highest team total in the ICC Champions Trophy of 351 against Australia at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore in ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
England rode on Ben Duckett’s Champions Trophy record innings of 165 runs, supported by Joe Root’s 68 and a couple of other cameos, to become the first team to breach the 350-run mark in this competition.
However, the bowlers couldn’t defend this score as Josh Inglis blew them away.
1. Australia – 356/5 vs England, 2025, Lahore
Australia hold the record for the highest team score in the ICC Champions Trophy history. They chased down the target of 352 runs against England in Lahore in the 2025 edition of the competition, and finished at the score of 356/5.
Australia’s chase was powered by Josh Inglis’ thunderous 120-run knock, while Matt Short and Alex Carey contributed with aggressive fifties. Maxwell’s finishing cameo took Australia over the line with 15 balls remaining and five wickets in hand.
