Women’s cricket has made massive progress in recent years. Franchise leagues like Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) and Women’s Premier League (WPL) have played a key role in boosting fans’ interest and helping young players develop in front of massive crowds and global superstars.
Started in 2023, WPL garnered interest from IPL franchises like Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Delhi Capitals, which helped popularize women’s cricket across the country. Over the years, the tournament has entertained fans with several high-scoring games.
On that note, let’s take a look at the top five highest team totals in the history of WPL.

5. Gujarat Giants – 201/5 vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru, 2025, Vadodara
Gujarat Giants kicked off the WPL 2025 with a bang as they smashed 201 at loss of five wickets against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the first match of WPL 2025.
With help of fifties from Beth Mooney (56 off 42) and captain Ashleigh Gardner (79 off 37), Gujarat Giants women posted a massive total on the board. However, they lost the game as RCB women chased down the target with five wickets to spare.
4. Royal Challengers Bengaluru – 202/4 vs Gujarat Giants, 2025, Vadodara
Royal Challengers Bengaluru became the first team in the WPL history to chase down a target of over 200 in the WPL in first match of WPL 2025. After Gujarat Giants posted a total of 201 in the first innings, RCB chased down the target by six wickets and nine balls to spare.
Ellyse Perry (57 off 34), Raghvi Bist (25 off 27), Richa Ghosh (64 off 27) and Kanika Ahuja (30 off 13) led the charge for RCB women.
3. Mumbai Indians – 207/5 vs Gujarat Giants, 2023, DY Patil Stadium
The Gujarat Giants were on the receiving end against Mumbai Indians when the eventual champions posted a massive total of 207 at the DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai in 2023.
Batting first, the top-order pair of Hayley Matthews (47) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (65) laid the foundation for a big total. Amelia Kerr later applied finishing touch, scoring 45 off 24 balls.
Mumbai Indians ultimately won the game by 143 runs and Harmanpreet Kaur was named Player of the Match.
2. Delhi Capitals – 211/4 vs UP Warriorz, 2023, DY Patil Stadium
Delhi Capitals hold the record for the second-highest total in WPL history for their massive total of 211 runs against UP Warriorz in 2023 at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium.
Delhi Capitals dismantled the UP Warriorz bowling attack with captain Meg Lanning starring with a 70-run knock. Lanning stitched a 67-run partnership with opener Shafali Verma, putting the Capitals in a strong position.
The Capitals restricted UP Warriorz for 169 runs to complete a 42-run victory.
1. Delhi Capitals – 223/2 vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru, 2023, Brabourne
Delhi Capitals recorded the highest team total in the WPL history by scoring 223 runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai in 2023.
Batting first, the Capitals got off to a brilliant start with a 162-run opening stand. Captain Meg Lanning (72) and Shafali Verma (84) led the charge, while Marizanne Kapp provided the perfect finish with a quickfire 39 off just 17 balls.
Delhi Capitals won the game by 60 runs
