This will be the 17th edition of the tournament and will be played between September 9 and 28 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Hong Kong will be making their fifth Asia Cup appearance and first since 2022. The tournament will be played in T20I format, where India will defend their title against the other seven opponents.
Eight teams have been divided into two groups, which will feature four teams each. Hong Kong are part of Group B, with Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. India, Pakistan, Oman, and the UAE are slated in Group A. The league round will be followed by the Super Four stage and then the final.
This tournament will give teams a chance to teams to prepare for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled during February and March in India and Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, the associate nations can learn a lot from some of the teams, like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and others.
