The 2026 edition returned to the traditional format, with Central Zone, the defending champions, taking on East Zone in the first semi-final. The defending champions lost the match to East Zone who marched into the finals. East Zone pacers Mohammed Shami and Mukesh Kumar remained the highlight of the show, as Mukesh was named the player of the match for his standout role in East Zone’s win.
On the other hand, South Zone are clashing against North Zone in the other fixture of the domestic knockouts. Both matches began on August 30 at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.

The first semi-final between Central Zone and East Zone produced a dramatic contest. Central were bowled out for 266, with Rinku Singh making a crucial 60 off 88 balls and Harsh Dubey contributing 27. East Zone matched the total with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi‘s spectacular knock.
Mukesh Kumar was one of East Zone’s standout performers with the ball, taking 3/56, while Mohammed Shami claimed 2/42. Harsh Dubey then impressed for Central with 4/66 as East were bowled out for 266. Mukesh and Shami picked four and three wickets in the second innings, respectively, to limit Central Zone to a small target, which the East Zone batters chased comfortably.
The second semi-final is between the South Zone and the North Zone. South Zone continued to forge ahead under a determined captain who scored the bulk of the runs. Tilak Varma’s unbeaten century helped South Zone post a comprehensive first innings lead. North Zone on the other hand have struggled with their batters not hitting form.
