India don’t have a great record at the Lord’s in test cricket.

After the two enthralling games between the England Cricket Team and the Indian Cricket Team, the focus now tilts towards the third game of the five-match series. The game is scheduled to begin on 10th July at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

Both England and India have put up terrific performances in the first two games. While it was the Ben Stokes-led side that won the series opener by five wickets at Headingley in Leeds, the Shubman Gill-led side made a solid comeback at Edgbaston in Birmingham, winning by 336 runs.

The five-match test series now stands levelled at 1-1, and the upcoming third test becomes even more important for both teams. Playing the test at the ‘Home of Cricket’ is always considered a big occasion for any team, and for the Shubman Gill-led side, it will be another big challenge as wins at this venue don’t come easily.

India’s record at the Lord’s Cricket Ground isn’t great. India have played 19 tests at the venue so far, with the first one coming in 1932. The Asian heavyweights have always faced a hard challenge there, especially with the slope, as both batters and bowlers struggle to get used to conditions there.

India have won just three games at the Lord’s while they have managed four draws as well. However, on the remaining 12 occasions, they have looked torrid, and this time around, they would want to change their fortunes and register another famous win.

India’s first win at the Lord’s came in 1986, and their latest victory came during the last tour in 2021-22. Under the leadership of Virat Kohli, they registered a massive 151-run win. With just three wins at the venue, it will be an uphill task for Shubman Gill to marshal his troops to win in the third game of the ongoing series.

Notably, India have managed to win two out of last three tests played at the Lord’s.

But before the second test, India had never won at Edgbaston. However, Shubman Gill and his men changed the records and registered a massive win. Hence, they would be confident going ahead.
