How much money will each Indian player get after winning T20 World Cup 2026 title?

India have received financial rewards from both the ICC and the BCCI.

The Indian team defeated New Zealand in the final of the T20 World Cup 2026 on Sunday, March 8. This was a dominating win for the home team as they registered a 96-run victory over the Black Caps.

After winning the toss, Kiwi captain Mitchell Santner requested that India bat first. However, the decision backfired as half-centuries from Ishan Kishan (54), Abhishek Sharma (52), and Sanju Samson (89) helped India collect a huge 255/5 in 20 overs.

Despite 52 from Tim Seifert and 43 from Mitchell Santner, New Zealand only scored 159 runs in response, losing the final by 96 runs. Axar Patel grabbed three wickets, and Jasprit Bumrah took 4/15 for India.

India became the first team to successfully defend the T20 World Cup title and also the first team to win the competition three times.

How much money each Indian player will pocket?

India’s success in the 2026 T20 World Cup has benefited the players financially. Following the T20 World Cup victory, the BCCI announced a cash incentive of INR 131 crore for the team, coaching staff, and support staff. Additionally, the winners received prize money from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Let’s check out how much money each Indian player will get from the winnings of the T20 World Cup 2026 title victory.

The BCCI prize pool would give each member of the T20 World Cup-winning team INR 5 crore. In addition, India received USD 2.34 million (about INR 21.5 crore) in ICC prize money for winning the competition.

Depending on how the board divides it, each player would receive an additional INR 70–80 lakh if this sum were also given to the team.

Accordingly, an average Indian player on the team is anticipated to earn between INR 5.7 to 6 crore from the tournament victory. This figure is an approximate estimate based on the BCCI payout structure and the ICC prize money.

BCCI’s prize money of Rs 131 crore is the biggest chunk of financial rewards. Each T20 World Cup-winning Indian player will get INR 5 crores; while the remainder of the money will be distributed among the coaching staff, support staff, selectors, and team management.

Teams received prize money from the ICC based on their finishing positions in addition to the BCCI bonus. India won the event and were awarded USD 2.34 million, or around INR 21.5 crore. Teams were also awarded from the ICC prize pool according to their final tournament standings.
