How did Rishabh Pant & Kuldeep Yadav trade deal impact the purses of DC, LSG ahead of IPL 2027?

Rishabh Pant has moved to DC, while Kuldeep Yadav has joined LSG ahead of IPL 2027.
Kuldeep Yadav and Rishabh Pant have struggled to perform well in IPL 2026. Leading LSG, Pant could not make a mark with his batting as well as his captaincy. With a batting average of 28.36, the wicket-keeper batsman could only score 312 runs in 13 innings, slamming just one fifty and getting out cheaply on many occasions.
LSG failed to qualify for the playoffs for the second consecutive time under Pant’s captaincy and were also the worst performers in IPL 2026. Winning just four games out of 14, they finished in the last spot in the points table with 8 points. Just after the tournament, Rishabh Pant stepped down as the captain.
Kuldeep Yadav, who has been a crucial member of Delhi Capitals over the last few seasons, could not give his best show in IPL 2026. The left-arm spinner could take only 10 wickets in 12 matches, with an expensive economy rate of 10.29 and a poor average of 38.10.
Ahead of IPL 2027, both franchises have traded these two high-profile players among themselves. Rishabh Pant returned to his former team for ₹15 crore; his price with LSG was ₹27 crore. He was part of DC till IPL 2024 before joining LSG in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav joined LSG for INR 13.5 crore and will represent the side for the first time in his career. This can be considered one of the biggest trade deals in the IPL, as both players are currently part of the national team. Following the trade deal, the salary purses of both these teams have changed.
What impact did this trade deal have on purses of DC and LSG?

Pant had a ₹27 crore contract with LSG, but he has been traded to DC for ₹15 crore. Therefore, LSG will have an additional ₹12 crore in their purse. Additionally, they acquired Kuldeep Yadav for ₹13.5 crore, which means they will receive ₹1.5 crore from DC.
After the IPL 2026 auction, LSG had INR 4.55 crore left in their purse. Their revised salary purse will be INR 18.05 crore. On the other hand, Delhi had INR 35 lakh left in their salary purse after the last auction.
Now, their purse will be adjusted according to their net trade value ahead of the next auction. They will have to release a few players to adjust their salary purse set by the BCCI.
Delhi Capitals‘ purse will be decreased ahead of the IPL 2027 auction. On the other hand, LSG have benefited significantly from this trade deal, as their purse has increased.
