ICC finds 20-day window for Champions Trophy 2025, India participation unclear - Reports

Pakistan have the hosting rights of ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has proposed a 20-day window for the upcoming Champions Trophy (CT) in 2025. Pakistan have the hosting rights of CT 2025 and it is unclear whether Indian Cricket Team will take part in the marquee event or not.
Currently, the Men in Blue are in New York and are playing at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Rohit Sharma-led India won their first group stage match against Ireland. The Indian side is all set to take on arch-rivals Pakistan in a high-voltage clash at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on June 9.
20-day window for Champions Trophy 2025: ICC
The last edition of the Champions Trophy was held in 2017, and Pakistan won the championship by defeating India by 180 runs in the final at the Oval, London.
According to a latest report in Cricbuzz, the apex cricket council has found a 20-day window for the upcoming tournament. The CT 2025 will feature a total of eight teams that will fight for the ultimate glory. The report further added that the marquee event will take place between February 19 and March 9, 2025.
It is to be noted that in the 2017 edition, there was a 19-day window, with the tournament starting on June 1 and concluding on June 18.
The Cricbuzz report further claimed that the tentative dates of the upcoming CT 25 will be shared with the cricket boards soon so that they can adjust their franchise leagues accordingly.
Will India take part in the upcoming Champions Trophy in 2025?
According to the Cricbuzz report, it is unlikely that the India will travel to Pakistan and play in the mega event. The report further added that with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) winning the general elections and returning to power in India once again, it is understood that they will stick to their firm stance against Pakistan.
However, there has been no official statement made by the BCCI or Indian government till now. The Cricbuzz reported claimed that they have to wait for the next two months to get an idea about participation of the Men in Blue at ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
