Team India beat New Zealand in the final on Sunday to win the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Team India scripted history as they beat New Zealand in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 to lift the championship for the third time. It was another great campaign for Rohit Sharma and his men as they won the title without losing a single game.

It was a great tournament for the spectators and fans, with the top eight teams competing in it to make it a great success. This tournament saw a number of records broken, and the world saw some incredible individual performances as well.

To highlight that individual brilliance, we have formed the best XI of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will have the best players from the tournament.

Best XI of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025

1. Rohit Sharma (C)

Who better than Rohit Sharma can lead this team? Rohit kept his best for the final and played a match-winning knock of 76 off 83 to take India to glory and win the Man of the Match award.

Overall, he scored 180 runs in the tournament at an average of 36 and a strike rate of 100. His selfless approach, quick starts, and leadership are the reasons why he is opener and captain of this team.

2. Rachin Ravindra

The Kiwi opener Rachin Ravindra ended up winning the Player of the Tournament award for finishing as the highest run-scorer in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The left-hander showed great skill playing against both spin and pace.

He scored 263 runs in four innings at an average of 65.75 and a strike rate of 106.47, with two centuries. He will make a good pair with Rohit at the top. Not to forget, he was handy with the ball and scalped three wickets.

3. Virat Kohli

At No. 3, we have probably the best ODI batter in modern-day cricket, Virat Kohli. Kohli played two match-winning innings against Pakistan and Australia under pressure while chasing and looked at his best. He finished the tournament with 218 runs at an average of 54.50. He will be batting at No. 3 in this team.

4. Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer finished as the top scorer for India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He registered the scores of 15, 56, 79, 45, and 48 in Dubai, which was not easy to bat on.

He was always batting in difficult times when the spinners were on, but he once again showed that he belongs to this stage. Iyer scored 243 runs at an average of 48.60 and will be batting at No. 4 in this team.

5. Glenn Phillips

There were some amazing performances in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 with bat and ball, but one thing which will always be remembered is Glenn Phillips and his mind-boggling catches. He was unstoppable in all three departments.

Giving New Zealand good finishing touch with cameos, taking wickets, and taking incredible catches for fun. He can be ideal No. 5, who can do everything. He scored 177 runs, took two wickets, and took five catches in the tournament.

6. KL Rahul (wk)

New Zealand’s Tom Latham and South Africa’s Ryan Rickelton were two of the top run-scorers as wicket-keepers in the tournament, but we have picked KL Rahul as wicket-keeper of this side. He was at his best with the bat and scored runs when it mattered the most.

Rahul batted in four innings and scored 41*, 23, 43*, and 34*. All his runs came in difficult times, especially in the semi-final and final, which showed how well he performed.

7. Azmatullah Omarzai

Afghanistan played three games in the group stage and won one, lost one and another was washed out due to rain. Their sole win came against England, which saw one of the best all-round performances ever in ICC Champions Trophy history by Azmatullah Omarzai.

He won the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year 2024 award and proved that he was a deserving candidate. In three innings, he took seven wickets with 5/58 being his best bowling figures and scored 127 runs at an average of 42 and a strike rate of 104.13.

8. Michael Bracewell

The Kiwi all-rounder Michael Bracewell was another player who had a good tournament. He did well in both departments. He scored 83 runs with the bat, including a quick 53 runs in the final.

With the ball, he took eight wickets at an economy rate of 4.10. His all-round contribution makes him the right guy to play as a spin all-rounder in this side.

9. Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami had a pretty decent tournament as he finished joint second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament. Shami started with 5/42 in the very first game against Bangladesh.

He finished with nine wickets in the tournament and bowled pretty well with both new and old balls on the pitch, which was dry and slow. All his performances helped him feature in this team.

10. Matt Henry

New Zealand suffered a massive blow when Matt Henry was ruled out of the final on Sunday. But, he still finished as the highest wicket-taker of the tournament.

Henry bowled on the pitches which were not friendly for seamers, but he executed his plans very well and took ten wickets with best figures of 5/42, which came against India in the group stage. No other bowler took more wickets than him, which is why he is in the Best XI of the tournament.

11. Varun Chakravarthy

India made a big call when they replaced batter Yashasvi Jaiswal with spin bowler Varun Chakravarthy in the squad, despite having four spinners already in the squad. Varun warmed the bench in the first two games, but once he was included in the playing XI, he grabbed it with both hands and then forced the team to include him in the playing XI for rest of the matches.

He took nine wickets in three matches at an economy rate of 4.53 and surely was one of the key reasons for India winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
