India have been undefeated in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 so far.

India have emerged as one of the strongest teams in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Men in Blue have looked like a solid unit with depth in the batting lineup and six complete bowling options.

The hybrid model of the tournament has allowed the Asian giants to play all their games in Dubai, which has played to their strength. They defeated Bangladesh and Pakistan in their first two games of the campaign by six wickets to secure a berth in the semi-finals.

They finished their group stage journey with a 44-run win against New Zealand on March 2. Batting first, India posted 249 runs, with vital contributions from Shreyas Iyer and Hardik Pandya, who scored 79 and 45 runs, respectively.

In reply New Zealand weren’t able to counter India’s four man spin attack and crumbled to 205. Making his ICC Champions Trophy debut, Varun Chakaravarthy starred with the ball picking 5/42 in 10 overs.

Thanks to the win, India finished as the toppers of Group A standings of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and will now face Australia in the semi-final 1 on March 4 in Dubai. Australia finished second in Group B with four points from three games.

They started their campaign with a record 352-run chase against England in Lahore. Josh Inglis played the innings of a lifetime, scoring an unbeaten 120 off 86 balls. However their next two games against South Africa and Afghanistan ended without result due to rain-forced washouts.

The two teams last met in an ODI match in the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in Ahmedabad. The match ended in heartbreak for Indian fans as Travis Head’s 137-run knock guided Australia to a dominant six-wicket victory.

The second semi-final will be played on March 5 between New Zealand and South Africa in Lahore.
