ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Most runs, most wickets after semi-final 1, IND vs AUS

India defeated Australia by four wickets in the first semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
On Tuesday, March 4, India defeated Australia by four wickets in the first semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Men in Blue will now face the winners of the second semi-final between South Africa and New Zealand in Dubai on March 9.
Earlier in the game, Australian captain Steve Smith won the toss and elected to bat first. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Australia posted 264 runs in the first innings. Steve Smith (73) and Alex Carey (61) laid the foundation for Australia, while Mohammed Shami starred for India with three wickets.
In reply, India lost openers Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma early, slipping to 43/2. Shreyas Iyer then joined Virat Kohli to stitch a 91-run partnership for the third wicket.
Virat Kohli held one end and guided India in the run chase with 84 off 98 balls, including five fours. He received support from Axar Patel (27) and KL Rahul (42). Pandya’s quickfire 28 off 24 balls helped India seal the win by four wickets.

England batsmen Ben Duckett and Joe Root hold the top spots on the highest run-scorers list in the tournament with 227 and 225 runs, respectively.
Virat Kohli’s match-winning 84 runs today have taken him to the third spot with 217 runs. Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran and India’s Shreyas Iyer, who scored 45 in today’s game, complete the list of top five with 216 and 195 runs respectively.

New Zealand speedster Matt Henry leads the wicket-takers’ chart with eight wickets. Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami’s three-wicket haul today has placed him in the second spot with eight wickets as well.
India’s Varun Chakaravarthy, Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai, and Australia’s Ben Dwarshuis complete the list of top five wicket-takers list with seven wickets each.
