The Group B clash of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 between Afghanistan and Australia ended without result due to rain.

Rain disrupted the 10th game of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 between Afghanistan and Australia in Lahore. It arrived in the second innings, eventually leading to the match being called off after the final inspection.

Winning the toss and batting first, Afghanistan started well, reaching 54/1 at the end of the powerplay. Youngster Sediqullah Atal led the batting lineup, scoring 85 off 95 balls, including six sixes and three fours.

Australian bowlers led the fightback in the middle overs with regular wickets to control the run flow. Azmatullah Omarzai (67) provided a late flourish to Afghanistan’s innings, pushing the total to 273 in the first innings.

Ben Dwarshuis was the most successful Australian bowler, finishing with match figures of 3/47. He received solid support from Spencer Johnson and Adam Zampa, who picked up two wickets each.

In reply, Australia got off to a blazing start, adding 90 runs in the first 10 overs. Openers Travis Head and Matthew Short were both dropped on single-digit scores by Afghanistan fielders.

Just when it seemed Australia would secure an easy win, rain interrupted play in the 13th over, where Australia were at 109/1, leading to the match being called off after the final inspection.
