The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be played in a hybrid model.

It has been officially announced by the ICC that the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be played across two countries – Pakistan and a neutral venue – in a hybrid model.

This confirmation from the governing body came after a long standoff between the BCCI and the PCB. Eventually, it was agreed that the ICC tournaments which are to be hosted by India and Pakistan until 2027 will be played in hybrid model.

India are set to host the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 and co-host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 (hosted by India and Sri Lanka).

According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, the PCB have picked the UAE as the neutral venue for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where India’s matches will be played in the UAE, including the knockouts if they reach it.

The PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi reportedly met with Sheikh Nahyan Al Mubarak in Pakistan. Sheikh Nahyan is a senior UAE minister and also the head of the Emirates Cricket Board.

While the entire schedule is yet to be announced, the date of the India vs Pakistan match has been finalized.
