Gujarat’s capital city Ahmedabad got the opportunity to host the tournament's opener at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium with defending champions England taking on runners-up New Zealand.
Ahmedabad will also be hosting the big World Cup Final on 19th November, suggesting Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium has become India’s new cricket centre for hosting the big games.
