After the opening wicket, the Dutch made a good recovery but the middle order collapsed due to poor judgment in running between the wickets. The Netherlands had 4 run-outs in the middle overs.

Saybrand Engelbrecht (58) was the top scorer in the Dutch innings. They were bowled out on 179 runs. Mohammad Nabi picked up 3 wickets for Afghanistan, while Noor Ahmed picked up 2 scalps. Afghanistan, after losing two early wickets, never looked uncomfortable in the chase.

Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi’s unbeaten knock of 56 runs and Rahmat Shah’s knock of 52 runs helped Afghanistan win their 4th game in the ongoing mega event. Afghanistan had won only one ICC Cricket World Cup game before the World Cup 2023 but now they have added 4 more in their tally.
