Indian Cricket Team defeated New Zealand in the final to clinch the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
On Thursday, March 20, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a cash reward of INR 58 crores for the Indian Cricket Team following their triumph at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
India dominated the Champions Trophy and went unbeaten throughout the tournament. They defeated Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand in the group stage before edging past Australia in the semi-finals and New Zealand in the final.
Varun Chakaravarthy and Shreyas Iyer emerged as trump cards for the tournament and led the team with crucial wickets and valuable runs in tough conditions.
After a 10-year ICC title drought, India have tasted success in the last two ICC tournaments. Earlier, they went unbeaten in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 to clinch their second 20-over World Cup.

BCCI President Roger Binny emphasized that winning back-to-back ICC titles is a special achievement, and the cash reward recognizes the team’s dedication on the global stage.
The President said, “Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special and this reward recognizes Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage.“
“The cash award is a recognition of the hard work that everyone puts in behind the scenes. This was also our second ICC Trophy in 2025, following the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup triumph and it highlights the strong cricketing ecosystem in place in our country.“
India will defend their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title at home in 2026. They will also have a chance to redeem their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final loss in the 2027 edition, set to take place in South Africa.
