KL Rahul scored an unbeaten 41 against Bangladesh.

Having secured their place in the semi-finals of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025, India have emerged as one of the strongest teams in the competition.

After winning their first two games against Pakistan and Bangladesh by six wickets, the Men in Blue are currently placed second in Group A standings with four points from two games. They will face New Zealand on March 2 in Dubai in their final group-stage fixture, which will also determine whom they’ll face in the semi-finals.

The lack of impact of this clash on the Group A semi-final race has sparked discussions on whether India should rest senior players like Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami, who may risk injuries.

Amidst all this, Indian wicket-keeper KL Rahul has now shared insights on how the Indian camp is preparing ahead of the New Zealand game.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, KL Rahul dismissed any fitness concerns for the Indian team. However, he acknowledged that more details would be known after tomorrow’s training session.

Rahul said, “Fitness wise I think there’s no, I don’t know too much but from whatever I know I think everything seems pretty okay. There’s no real concerns about anyone missing games as far as I know.

We’ll probably know more in today’s training. Yeah everyone’s been in the gym, everyone’s been at training the last time as well so yeah little some concerns but I don’t think it’s too much.

Rahul batted at No. 6 against Bangladesh and scored an unbeaten 41, but the 32-year-old did not get a chance to bat against Pakistan on February 23.

When asked about the constant changes in his batting position, the Indian wicket-keeper batter emphasized that the decision rests with the team management and that players focus on what benefits the team.

He added, “It’s never easy for anyone on the team to be moving in different places. But that’s how the game goes. Whatever the team thinks is the best possible combination and what they feel is the best entry points for player – you leave it up to the team to decide and you just try and do your job and that’s what I’m focusing on.
