Arshdeep has been found guilty of violating Article 2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.

Apart from the imposition of the fine, Arshdeep has also received one demerit point on his disciplinary record. This is his first offence in the last 24 months.

The incident occurred in the 11th over of New Zealand’s innings when Arshdeep was fielding the ball on his follow-through and threw the ball aggressively towards the batsman, hitting Kiwi batter Daryl Mitchell.

Arshdeep has accepted the sanction proposed by Andy Pycroft of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, and as such, no hearing is required in this matter.

For Level 1 offences, the lowest penalty is an official reprimand. The maximum penalty is 50 per cent of a player’s match fee, and devaluation points range from one to two.
